Not a good New Year, so far

Haven't posted for awhile.  Things have been going down hill with Dannii.  In the last few weeks, he has almost stopped eating completely.  That's not good.  He still drinks water, and he still goes out and pee's and he tries to poo.  But the mass in his rectum, is giving him problems.  He is straining and straining like he did before he got his Elspar shot back in the first of November.  Would have like to have done another one, but I don't have the $250.00 for the vet to order and I honestly do not know if it would do him any good at this point.

This picture was taken on New Years eve, and that is Girl Cat.  My son found her and her brother (Boy Cat, and he has since disappeared over a year ago) after their mom abandoned them in a storm.  Had no intention on keeping them, but we did.

As you can see by the date, this was taken on January 1, 2012, and we were at Point Isabel.  Zak is sitting front and center, while Dannii is looking on, in the background.

This is Dannii, and he looks so good.  He (at least to me), he doesn't look to be 13 years old, nor does he look to be sick with cancer.  But he is.  I was thinking that maybe this was going to be his last outing to the park.  I still am not sure if it will be or not.  I hope it isn't.

Taken on January 6, 2012.  Trying to rest, and hoping that I would quit taking pictures of him!

I think he still looks pretty good for an ol guy!  This was taken yesterday, outside in front of the house.  Normally when he gets out, he takes off.  Not this time, so I knew he wasn't feeling too well.  He just kind of hang out in the front, looking and smelling a few things.  I had to get something out of my car, so the door was opened and he jumped inside.  Was checking out his water bowl that I normally keep but of course it was empty.

I let him outside today, but forgot to grab the dang camera.  He wondered over to the side yard, then walked over to the neighbors yard, and was sniffing and smelling Shadow.  She is a pitt bull mixed with boxer, and just one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet.  Then Dannii walked around to their side yard to poo, he was outside the fence line, and Shadow came outside to say hello.  Dannii just kind of ignored her, and he went back to our yard, and was smelling the trees.  Guess a dog peed there. I opened the storm door, hoping to get inside to grab my camera, but he came and walked right into the house.  Normally, I would have to wait for him to finish running around and smelling all the different smells, before he would come in.  Am just wondering how much longer he would have stayed outside if I didn't open that stupid storm door?!!

He hasn't eaten hardly anything today.  I resorted to shoving his nausea pills and his appetite stimulant pills down his throat, just so he would be able to eat something later on.  A little while ago, he did eat a small amount of cat kibble.  He loves cat food, so I just let him have it, but he didn't eat very much this time.  Hopefully, we will eat after a while now.

We are just taking it one day at a time.  If I hadn't had so much to do today, I should have taken them to the dog park. It is a beautiful day for this time of year, here.. Its been in the low to mid 60's.  Normally, we would be having a ton of rain, and some storms right about now.  But am glad the weather is still good.  Not good because of all the dry grasses and such, but it would be nice if the weather could hold like this until after its Dannii's time to leave and cross the rainbow bridge.  I just want him to be able to enjoy the nice weather for as long as he can.
